  • Advise clients on contract terms, risk allocation, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing construction projects.
  • Conduct due diligence on construction-related agreements, identifying potential legal and financial risks.
  • Collaborate with clients, developers, contractors, and architects to structure contracts that align with project goals and mitigate disputes.
  • Provide strategic counsel on construction disputes, including claims for delays, defects, or cost overruns, and assist in resolving issues through negotiation or alternative dispute resolution.
  • Work closely with cross-disciplinary teams, including real estate, corporate, and environmental law groups, to deliver comprehensive client solutions.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, zoning regulations, and construction law developments to provide cutting-edge advice.
  • Mentor junior associates and contribute to the firm's collaborative, team-oriented culture.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience drafting and negotiating real estate construction contracts at a law firm or in-house legal department.
  • Proven expertise in construction law, including familiarity with AIA contracts, lien laws, and construction risk management.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills, with a track record of structuring complex agreements for real estate development projects.
  • Exceptional analytical, research, and writing skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-centric approach to problem-solving.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in the California Bar.
  • Experience with real estate development, zoning, or environmental regulations is a plus but not required.
  • Commitment to a full-time, in-office role (non-remote, non-hybrid).

Why Join Us?
