Private Client Services Associate (3+ Years' Experience)

Los Angeles, CA
Salary Range: $220,000 - $285,000

About Us

We are a premier full-service law firm with over six decades of excellence, delivering innovative and practical solutions to complex legal challenges. Based in Los Angeles, we serve high-net-worth individuals, families, and leading businesses across industries, including entertainment, real estate, and technology. Our collaborative, entrepreneurial culture fosters mentorship, professional growth, and meaningful client relationships. Join our dynamic team and contribute to a legacy of excellence while advancing your career in a supportive, industry-leading environment.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Private Client Services Associate with 3+ years of experience to join our renowned Private Client Services (PCS) practice. This is an exceptional opportunity to advise high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients on sophisticated domestic and international tax, wealth transfer, and succession planning, while building lasting, multi-generational relationships. As part of our PCS team, you will collaborate with top-tier attorneys and cross-disciplinary practice groups, engage directly with clients and their advisors, and develop expertise in a globally recognized practice area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on core estate planning, advanced gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer tax strategies, and California property tax planning.
  • Counsel clients on complex domestic and international structures, including foreign trusts, privacy structures, and residency planning for domestic and global migrations.
  • Assist with pre- and post-liquidity event planning, post-death trust and probate administration, and fiduciary income tax planning.
  • Handle trust and estate disputes, fiduciary and beneficiary litigation, and charitable planning, including grant-making and not-for-profit administration.
  • Engage in frequent client and advisor interactions, providing clear, actionable advice from the earliest stages of practice.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including corporate, income tax, real estate, entertainment, and employment law groups, to deliver holistic client solutions.
  • Contribute to thought leadership through publications, speaking engagements, and industry conferences in locations such as Los Angeles, New York, London, and Paris.
  • Mentor junior associates and participate in the firm's collaborative, team-oriented culture.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of legal experience, with a strong interest in private client services, tax planning, or estate planning.
  • Demonstrated interest in technical tax practice through coursework, prior experience, or an LL.M. program is preferred but not required.
  • Exceptional analytical, research, and writing skills, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and advisors.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in the California Bar.
  • Experience in estate planning, trust administration, or tax law is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Commitment to a full-time, in-office role (non-remote, non-hybrid).

Why Join Us?

  • Prestigious PCS Practice: Join an industry-recognized team of thought leaders who advise high-profile clients on complex, high-stakes matters.
  • Collaborative Environment: Work closely with experienced attorneys and cross-disciplinary teams in a supportive, mentorship-driven culture.
  • Global Impact: Participate in speaking engagements and publications, with opportunities to attend industry conferences worldwide.
  • Professional Development: Benefit from continuous training, technical skill-building, and support for industry recognition and career advancement.
  • Competitive Compensation: Enjoy a salary range of $220,000 - $285,000, plus performance-based bonuses and comprehensive benefits.
  • Los Angeles Lifestyle: Thrive in Century City, with access to LA's vibrant cultural, professional, and culinary hubs.
