We primarily use a Node.js-based tech stack with Typescript across core services, fostering cross-functional development and promoting career growth through a full-stack approach. Our client-side platform is built primarily with React Native & integrates into native components developed in Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin & Java. Our backend architecture is event-driven and service-oriented, built on NestJS to encapsulate core contextual domains within a blend of microservices and cloud-native tools. For data storage, we utilize a mix of relational and NoSQL databases, with Postgres and DynamoDB as our primary choices, and are moving towards a multi-region, high-availability architecture. The platform is hosted on AWS, with an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) approach using Terraform, supporting our DevOps model and CI/CD processes. We manage multiple environments and place a strong emphasis on unit testing and automation to ensure reliable, smooth deployments.
The responsibilities will include executive collaboration, ensuring the engineering team acts as a key driver for business growth, a clear technology vision and roadmap, establishing and tracking KPIS, resource strategy, team structure, financial oversight, continuous improvement & regulatory compliance. Experience managing offshore/nearshore teams is vital along with a technologist first mindset.
What you need:
-Experience as a VPE (or equivalent title) coming from a Mobile First (or App company) for 5+ yrs
-Must be located in EST, CST Time Zones
-Experience dealing with traffic at 1M active monthly users (or greater)
-Experience with offshore & nearshore teams
-Experience owning the entire Tech Org (atleast 30 people)
