Position Overview
The Accounting Manager plays a vital leadership role, serving as a senior liaison between the firm and its clients. This position is ideal for a highly motivated professional looking to guide engagements, mentor staff, and shape the future of client service delivery. You'll lead complex projects, oversee tax engagements, and drive both operational efficiency and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tax returns across all entity types: corporate, partnership, S-corp, individual, consolidated, and trust
- Supervise tax research, communicating findings clearly to clients and internal teams
- Plan and schedule client engagements, balancing workloads and timelines
- Manage staff performance: training, reviewing, evaluating, and mentoring
- Assign and coordinate resources for multiple client engagements
- Oversee multiple client relationships and production targets independently
- Manage billing, budgets, and profitability for each assigned client
- Take full ownership of internal processes including realization and engagement delivery
- Lead client communication with professionalism and clarity
- Contribute to strategic decision-making and internal process improvement

Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (required)
- CPA certification preferred
- Minimum 6 years of relevant public accounting experience, including supervisory experience
- Proficiency with CCH Axcess or equivalent software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Work Environment
- This is not a fully remote role
- 40-hour workweek expected with flexibility to work from home if communicated in advance
- Technology and workspace setup provided for in-office use; remote equipment not provided
