Job Opportunity: Senior Plumbing Designer - Austin, TX | $85,000-$115,000
We're hiring a Senior Plumbing Designer to join a fast-growing, collaborative engineering team in Austin, TX. If you have a strong background in plumbing system design and enjoy working on large-scale commercial and industrial projects, this role offers a clear path to leadership and technical impact.
You'll take ownership of plumbing system designs across a range of sectors-commercial, healthcare, education, and high-rise residential-working directly with internal engineering teams and external stakeholders to ensure well-integrated, code-compliant systems.
What You'll Do:
Lead the design of plumbing systems, including domestic water, sanitary waste, and vent systems.
Produce detailed construction documents, schematics, and layout drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
Ensure system designs meet applicable plumbing codes (IPC, UPC, NFPA) and project requirements.
Collaborate closely with architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, and contractors.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers and CAD staff.
Support QA/QC reviews and coordination meetings throughout the project lifecycle.
What You Bring:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Strong experience designing plumbing systems for MEP projects (commercial and industrial preferred).
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and related design software.
Deep knowledge of relevant codes and industry standards.
Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate across disciplines.
