Job Title: Construction Superintendent (Healthcare & Commercial Projects)

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent with a passion for building and construction to join our growing team. In this role, you will oversee daily job site activities, ensuring safety, quality, cost control, and schedule management. Your experience in both ground-up and renovation projects, particularly within healthcare settings, will be valuable. Previous experience working with AHCA projects is preferred, but not required. Key Responsibilities:

Project Schedule and Planning:

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to create, implement, and maintain the master project schedule.
  • Identify and communicate potential schedule delays (e.g., weather, design conflicts, open RFIs) to the Project Manager.
  • Prepare and distribute 2-week and 6-week look-ahead schedules to relevant team members and subcontractors.
  • Lead pre-installation meetings with subcontractors and ensure activities are coordinated across trades.

Construction and Site Management:

  • Direct subcontractors' daily activities and ensure adherence to the project schedule.
  • Supervise on-site construction activities, including coordinating material and equipment deliveries.
  • Maintain daily logs documenting activities, inspections, weather conditions, and other project specifics.
  • Coordinate inspections with subcontractors and building officials.
  • Verify subcontractor Time & Material (T&M) tickets as directed.

Document and Communication Management:

  • Maintain RFI and submittal logs through project management software (Procore).
  • Manage the entire RFI process-prepare, submit, track, and process all RFIs and responses.
  • Oversee the submittal process, ensuring timely review, processing, and distribution of submittals and shop drawings.
  • Keep As-Built drawings updated and maintained on-site.
  • Assist the Project Manager with OAC meetings and provide updates on project progress and upcoming activities.

Safety and Close-Out Procedures:

  • Create and execute punch lists prior to the owner/architect's punch list.
  • Schedule and coordinate owner training for inclusion in close-out documents.
  • Work with the Project Administrator to facilitate utility and permit close-out for Certificate of Occupancy.
  • Ensure job site compliance with safety regulations and standards.
  • Participate in monthly safety meetings and Superintendent meetings.
  • Ensure that the project adheres to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or significant relevant field experience.
  • Proven experience successfully managing and completing commercial construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations, OSHA standards, and safety programs.
  • Proficiency in project management, scheduling, and quality control.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges impacting project schedules, budgets, or quality.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and company values.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Procore, or similar construction management software.
