Position Overview
The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical construction projects. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical systems, materials, and labor costs, and the ability to analyze project specifications to generate thorough estimates that align with the company's goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project plans and specifications to understand the scope of work
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical projects, including labor, materials, and overhead
- Utilize estimating software such as Accubid and Livecount to create accurate estimates
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure estimates meet project requirements
- Conduct site visits to gather necessary information and assess project conditions
- Analyze historical data to improve estimation processes and accuracy
- Present estimates to management and clients as needed
- Maintain and update cost databases and estimation templates for future projects
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an electrical estimator in the commercial construction industry
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and labor costs
- Familiarity with estimating software, particularly Accubid and Livecount preferred
- Proficiency in Bluebeam and other construction-related software
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred
