Job Title: Controller - Construction, National GC  
Job Location: Perryville, MO (WIll require relocation to Perryville or commuting!)

Requirements: 5+ Years experience of accounting with a minimum of 2+ years in a leadership role 

We are a national dynamic Design-Build firm that has been established and in business for over 70 years. We specialize with respected clients in the heavy industrial, manufacturing; food grade processing plants, chemical and processing; power and renewable energy; healthcare facilities, and mining industries, as well as federal, state, and municipal agencies. Due to growth, we need to bring on a high level controller to lead the accounting functions of our nationwide operations. 

Position Overview
The Controller - Construction will oversee all financial operations within the construction division, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective financial management to support project success and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the financial activities of the construction division
  • Prepare and monitor budgets for various construction projects
  • Conduct financial forecasting and analysis to guide decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and accounting principles in all financial reporting
  • Implement effective cost control measures to optimize project profitability
  • Perform financial audits and ensure adherence to financial regulations
  • Lead tax preparation and compliance activities
  • Manage risk through financial analysis and proactive planning
  • Utilize ERP software for financial reporting and project management
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team
  • Oversee contract management and financial terms of construction agreements
  • Analyze job costing for construction projects and manufacturing operations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance or accounting within the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Proficiency in GAAP and accounting principles
  • Experience with construction project management and cost control
  • Familiarity with audit management and compliance regulations
  • Experience in tax preparation and financial risk management
  • Proficient in ERP software and financial reporting tools
  • Demonstrated team leadership and management skills
  • Strong experience overseeing $50mil+ in job costing 
  • Knowledge of contract management and construction practices
